Experience
A seasoned executive, Kemal brings more than 20 years of experience in research and development, human resources and change management—first as a team leader at General Motors, and later as a top executive in Arçelik.
His background in product development, strategic planning, and control systems engineering leads him to focus on managing the processes that turn good ideas into real changes and measurable accomplishments.
During his graduate studies in control and systems research at Illinois, Kemal delivered undergraduate courses and managed the related research laboratories.
He later became a senior research engineer at the General Motors Research Laboratories responsible for developing new automatic engine and transmission systems.
At Arçelik, Kemal was initially a R&D manager and one of the founders of Arçelik’s well-known Research and Development Center. Over its 15-year history this innovation center has developed many patented technologies and licence-free products for the company.
Kemal’s managerial success in developing engineers and interdisciplinary teams was the basis for his promotion to become the top human resources executive at Arçelik. He then led the transformation of the company’s personnel management divisions into a modern human resources department of high-level strategic importance.
Kemal is proud to have been Arçelik’s H.R. director when the company won the nation’s most prestigious quality award and went on to become a finalist in the European EFQM Quality Contest.
